An admin checks it by hand
A Stonkup admin looks for the code on Kickstarter and checks your details. Nothing is verified automatically.

Approval
Once approved, the startup shows as verified and locked fees can later be released to your payout address.

Anyone can submit a request, but nothing changes until an admin approves it. The startup's token, its holders and its treasury stay exactly as they are while a request is pending, so nobody can take over a startup by claiming to be its founder.
